Finlandiya-Oulu'da keresteden eski ambarlar artık birer kafe veya butik. Kerestenin bol olduğu şehirde 19.yy'da tuz ve şeker depolamada bu ahşap ambarlar kullanıldı. Şehir 1605'de İsveç kralı IX. Charles tarafından kurulur. Günümüzde yeni teknolojilerin toplum ölçeğinde test edildiği 'yaşayan laboratuvar' türü bir şehir olarak kabul edilmekte.
In Oulu-Finland, old timber warehouses are now cafes or boutiques. In the city where plenty of timber was produced, these warehouses were used for salt and sugar storage in the 19th century. In 1605, the city was founded by Charles IX, king of Sweden. Nowadays, city is considered a 'living lab' where new technologies are tested at a community-wide scale.
